Woodturnings

The descriptive term "woodturnings" can be applied to almost any objects that have been crafted, in whole or in part, using a lathe. The starting material is usually wood of some species or other, although artists have used woodturning lathes to turn objects of alabaster and soapstone, soft metals, oil palm nuts, many types of plastic, etc. The basic rule seems to be, if you can find a way to grip it securely, you can turn it!
