An abstract design of dark pink and blue is washed across the front of this Cascara Buckthorn weedpot. Cascara (Rhamnus purshiana) often develops lovely color bands when seasoned under certain conditions.
The back side shows some swirly grain, the pith on the shoulder, and a small dark knot on the flank. The rim has been friction-burned to set off the classic shape.
